Statements on Collections
The current collection takes inspiration from the environment and the current global warming phenomenon. The collection focuses on one of the worlds endangered species – the polar bear, which is quickly loosing it’s habitat to global warming. The polar bear symbolises the threat to nature that we humans risk by not taking more direct actions to help reduce or alleviate this global environment.
The collections show a male polar bear which roams at the Arctic alone in its natural habitat.
The collection aims to show the struggle of the polar bear against the forces of nature that is ever present in its environment, such as the snow storms and the long winter and summer of the Arctic. The collection gradually shows the depletion of its natural habitat due to the effects of human activity around the globe.
